I’ve been meaning to do this for a long time. Now there’s a “work-safe, kinda politically correct-ish, but I still wouldn’t show your granny if I were you” option, which ignores certain words and patterns. This required splitting the vocabulary into safe-for-work and not-safe-for-work sets — a harrowing process, to say the least.

As a bonus, here’s a snippet from the updated codebase:

The ‘API’ page has been rewritten, for the sake of clarity. It’s simple really: fetch URL; receive list. Some short code examples have been added too.
You can now grab random memes in JSON format, if you like. Thanks to jamiew for the idea.
Follow Auto-Meme on Twitter! I announced this a few days ago, but it turned out it wasn’t updating. At all. This appears to be fixed now; @automeme should churn out a couple of random memes a day.

Edit: Twitter bot’s still broken. I don’t know…
